It covers Scripture, historical and systematic theology, comparative theology, and ethics. Theology, in this instance, is understood to encompass both critical religious study–primarily of the Christian religion–and its practice. As such, courses may contain theoretical and spiritual formation components.

Many students choose the M.T.S. solely as a way to increase their knowledge of Christianity as well as to bring that knowledge to their families, careers, or individual lives. The program builds on either the B.R.S. or on undergraduate degree programs earned elsewhere. The degree is generally completed in two years.

Program Learning Outcomes

The Master Studies program imparts a general foundation in the biblical and theological disciplines. Distinctively, the outcomes of this program are to prepare graduates who,

  • Have strengthened foundations for enriching personal spiritual faith and developing spiritual maturity.
  • Have enhanced their understanding of biblical theology through systematic analysis of Scripture in its social, historical, and literary settings.
  • Have an increased understanding and appreciation for diverse worldviews.

The Program Learning Outcomes above are achieved by focusing on important learning objectives that are taught and reinforced throughout the various courses. Many of these objectives are addressed in this program will,

  • Develop a personal spiritual worldview
  • Appraise opposing arguments regarding the existence and implications of spirituality.
  • Defend the rationality of seeking a mature spiritual life.
  • Evaluate life circumstances by applying principles of spirituality.
  • Justify the socio-historical-grammatical approach to biblical interpretation.
  • Distinguish cultural settings from biblical doctrine
  • Explain the role of literary genre in interpreting the Bible
  • Propose and evaluate modern applications of Scripture based on critical analysis of texts
  • Analyze texts by applying rules of exegesis and contrasting points of view.
  • Evaluate the philosophical assumptions underlying interpretive variations in major biblical texts
  • Summarize the history, philosophies, and doctrines of major world religions.
  • Compare and contrast the major tenets of two world religions to those of Christianity

Time Allowance and Cost

The projected completion time for the Masters degree is 2 years for students who follow the regular academic semesters. However, the entire program can be completed online in the comfort of your home and at your own pace.  The cost is broken down into instalments per semester for ease of payment for students who are unable to pay per year of studies at once. There’s a one-time $25 registration fee and a tuition charge of $1000 per semester, and $100 for course materials. Tuition and fees are guaranteed for only two (2) years.  Course requirements may be adjusted at any time. The requirements are displayed in the curriculum assigned to their username.
